I much prefer vintage Technics, but to each their own!
I believe I have heard of American Acoustics before...They sound white van, but I know they aren't.

Given their reputation, your power claim on the Proton is mostly attributable to it's massive headroom, correct?

Yep the D1200s have 7.3dB of headroom and it's supposed to put out over 1000 watts per channel at its peak, the main capacitors are almost the size of a beer can.

American Acoustics got bought out by MTX in the early 90s, they have similar speakers if you look around.

Had a Technics SU-V8X too, that thing was a beast and one of my favorite integrated amplifier.

^^^Checkout the 32" Zenith CRT HDTV yo! I was one of the first to have a HDTV set among my friends and the first house to have Charter DVR in my area.

No surprise on the MTX link, they do appear to be highly similar to most MTX designs. MTX made some decent speakers, but nothing spectacular to my knowledge.

That Proton is a killer amp man, good job on the find!

i dont know how low the FS is of the subwoofer.. but you are probably gonna need an equalizer.

if it aint for the high end .. its gonna be for the low end.

and putting a subwoofer in the corner always messes with the phase of the soundwave.

there are only a lucky few that patch a problem rather than make it worse.

Its a 47" LED TV in it right now but I should be upgrading to a 52" pretty soon to fill out the entertainment center....more ...I only have 50"s width to work with ...or I'd go bigger....

FS is 24.22hz on the sub. Its a custom built TC9+ LMS. Its gonna be in about 3cu sealed. with 1-2lbs of polyfill. f3 should be about 32-34hz with a -3db at 26hz.
