anybody help me with my 02 jetta double-din

I have a double-din in my o2 jetta now that is not fitting to well, I want to add a dvd unit to the car and get dolby digital and 5.1 sound for under 500. Any advice-should I get a double-din dvd player or single din and fill the remaining spot with a factory piece that covers the dash

Get whichever one you want, it honestly doesn't make any difference, I personally think a double din unit would fill the space of a double din spot better. Unless you need the little cubby, or want to use the space below as a switch panel as I did before.

i just bought the in dash single din jvc kd-avx33 to put into my 02 gti. i got it installed last night for the most part and it looks pretty good. its just at $500 on onlinecarstereo. if you would like let me know and i can get you a picture after work today

I really do not care whether I get double-din or single din. I just really want 5.1 in my car and go the least expensive route. Im not sure if I need a signal processor or if I can get a dvd unit that takes care of all that. Eventually I want to add a center channel to my car
