just wondering if anybody has heard of this 48 inch subwoofer that supposedly hits 199 dB. from what I understand, its box is an ice cream truck? if you've heard of it and know how to point me in the direction, I've been looking for it for about 2 weeks or so now...

thanks a bunch guys

You have a link? I HIGHLY doubt that any system out there has come even remotely close to 199dB.

To give you an idea..200dB=

Saturn Rocket Taking off from 35ft away

50lbs of TNT from 50ft away

From what Ive read, around 195dB is the most that can be attained under "normal" atmospheric conditions. The rocket and TNT example are plausible due to the extreme heat generated by the blast/liftoff, which drastically changes the surrounding atmospheric conditions.

no no no guys, from what I understand, some dude made this thing or something..and from what two people have told me (they both say they have seen it in pictures or online) it isn't an actual SPEAKER (meaning it doesn't make any sound. they said something about a car piston and crankshaft or something...I dunno..

..I'm probably sounding about like an idiot right now, but I've been trying to figure out if this is true or not...

..and that MTX is freaking huge...what does something like that weigh? 2-, 300 pounds? lol

I have the Car Sound mag with this setup in it (via 1997 or 98)....

From what Ive read, around 195dB is the most that can be attained under "normal" atmospheric conditions.
194 db is twice atm. pressure.....close enough;)

Where's the Navy guys ? What's the output of sonar sending unit? I know that's got to be way up there too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
