string trimmer. what blows my mind is how it had such great compression. there was a metal paste in the muffler and chunks in the exhaust port. peice of ****Lol, what type of equipment is the engine for?
Get a STIHL trimmer. That's what I used at the stables. Loved it so much I got one for our house too.string trimmer. what blows my mind is how it had such great compression. there was a metal paste in the muffler and chunks in the exhaust port. peice of ****
craftsman, murray, mtd, yard man, troy built are the same junk.My Craftsman weed trimmer stopped working on me last summer. The pull-string won't budge at all.
From what I read and was told, at that point it's just easier to get a new one.....which I did.

Have a STIHL chainsaw too that just keeps on truckin'
They're like the DD of 2-stroke tools, imo
ive got an old weedeater, thats made by poulan btw., can't kill em. my saws are all stihl. my grandpa gave me this troy built it was used maybe 5 times last summer. lolIF you can find an old Weed Eater those work wonders, but yea, you just can't beat a Stihl nowadays. Most people don't know this, but if you do get a Stihl, run premium gas in it and you'll never have any motor issues.

and poulan!
I'd just rather buy a Stihl and have it last, than buy two of a lesser quality trimmer
What I'm saying is buy one good quality trimmer, treat it well, and store it properly in the winter. Then you don't have to buy a new one each year, which would save you money in the long runWhen your on a budget like I am, gotta do what's best for me.
I really hate when my 2 stroke valves stick. You have spark and fuel, but do you have compression?
Maybe stuck/bent/leaky valve or you need new piston rings.
Do a compression test and report back

I thought he had a law mower, not a trimmer.ya 2 stroke dont have halves like a 4 stroke .
most 2 strokes have reed valves, or of some kind.
also some 2 strokes dont have piston rings, or bearings.
Yea yeaI thought he had a law mower, not a trimmer.
Didn't specify in the first post. Jeez
