Anybody get MDF with Soft Spots?

almost always, I get MDF and when cutting there is soft spots. Screwing together wood. I got it from home depot, lowes, independent lumber. Lowes seems fresher than home depot, but has anyone experienced this?

May have gotten damp or water on it. MDF doesn't hold up well to water

Never had that but like brandumbo said water damage
