Anybody ever paint their car?

i would not paint your own car if you want it to look good. my parnets own a body shop, we have tons of stuff to paint a car that the average person will never see. thats why it costs 4k plus to get a good paint job. your best bet will be finding a friend that works at a body shop and doing it on the side. it can be done in three days because i repainted my whole tahoe in three day with a show room quality finish for about $150 of materials and i also bought the painter lunch //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

when you spray a line, your next line should overlap the last one 50%to make sure the paint is even
Oh Ok i got it,so with the clear cloat you overlap most of it(75%) but with paint you overlap half of it(50%). With primer do you do 50% too? What will happen if you use the same gun for primer and paint?

you got it, I just dont suggest doing it. Primer is a thicker material than paint Thats why you need a gun for primer and one for paint, just get a cheap gun for the primer, doesnt have to be anything special then a prettty good one for paint, it doesnt have to be outrageous though, your not doing this for a living. And I suggest gravity fed spray guns

that should work, I went to wal-mart and bought a cheap campbell-hausfield gun for little project stuff and Im rather impressed with the quality of the spray, and it was only like 50 bucks or so
