Anybody ever had any items in package replaced?

Question above, I've shipped hundreds of packages to buyers, friends, and families but have never experienced items being replaced by something else. I recently sold some wires to a buyer from car audio classifieds website and buyer just received package today and said all wires, electrical accessories were replaced with something else. The reason why I'm posting here is because they didn't seem to have a thunderdome forum like this forum does.

Anyways, I went ahead and filed a claim through UPS. One bit of me thinks something is sketchy. Chances of items being switched are rare. Tracking says it was left at door less than an hour before buyer messaged me saying he received 40lbs of gatorade mixes.....but my package weighted 27lbs. He claims it was my package with my name...... He seems to be a new member as well.

I'm pretty sure it'll end up with him doing a chargeback and me losing in the end. Payment was done through paypal gift, but I'm sure he paid with a credit/debit card.

It's already in my bank but I have a feeling this out end out well. Especially if ups doesn't approve the claim. I should've paid more attention since he was a new member w zero feedbacks. This is why I should've been more patient and sell it on cl

That's what I'm thinking. 300+ 100% on ebay for one account and 500+ feedback on another ebay account 100%, there's no reason for me to scam somebody for $100 of wires...

What you guys think I should do next? Post a thread on feedback forum? I don't think UPS will approve the claim, but I'll know within then next 5 days.

If they will allow it(on the OG site) I would "call" him out.......demand to see pics of the shipping box and what not. Was the box large enough to be able to pack 40lbs of gatoraid pack in?

At least make it public on that site so that others may not fall prey to him.

The shipping weigh of the items I shipped out was 27lbs, he claims he received 40lbs of items. That box was just big enough to fit all those wires and still have a little bit of room left, which I used packaging bubble and wraps to cover so they won't move too much. Tracking number even says 27lbs, either he did it or somebody did it within that hour UPS dropped it off his front door.

Man, this is why I sometimes hesitate to sell online and do most of my dealings with cl...but those wires were impossible to sell at my local craigslist.

Ill ask him for pics. I think this whole thing is bs too.

not sure if gatorade mix powder or gatorade itself. His buddy just commented on forum saying there was only gatorade.....

but why didnt he hesitate to ask me for shipping back money when he offered to ship me back the 40lbs of gatorade.....i don't even wanna know how much more money he'll have to spend to cover that shipping cost back.

By the way, just looked it up. 40lbs of Gatorade mix sells for about $280.

Packs of 8 2.1oz sell for $6.99

16oz in 1lb. Each pound cost $7

~$280 For said mix.

Idk why I'm marked as new member, I joined back in 2009 and he just joined this year. I have sold/bought some items from there since then, and more than just the number of itrader i have since some items the buyer/me never bothered to post feedback. His friend does have a good feedback account and I'm not sure why he would want to risk that.

I know I'll probably end up in the losing side if UPS denies the claim. At this point I got the word out there and just dont want to deal with it too much. Got my final year of school to go plus work to get a motorcycle since my honda is giving me problems.
