I know this is a BIG NO NO the radiant type. But what about in the forced air ones (torpedo). I know a few people that use strait diesel in theirs but then i get online and read this is a big no no. Just curious how many of you have tried it and how it worked out

Most of the newer ones are able to burn diesel such as this one. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=148684-57645-PT-70T-KFA&lpage=none

They say something like...

Multi-fuel tested: K-1 Kerosene, Diesel, #1 and #2 Heating Oil
I have a few older ones that don't say that on them that I've considered trying diesel in because it's a lot cheaper here but I haven't done so yet. My brick masons have 2 of the new ones that they burn diesel in and they work just like kerosene. For fast heat those types of heaters can't be beat, but they sure are loud.

you are really trying to save funds huh
dont do it, it sounds like an awful idea
Indeed. If the thing says NO diesel and you put it in there anyways, well at least you'll be cremated and save some money for the family in funeral cost....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

WTF happened to you whining and *****ing about only using electric the other day? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Because that is what I had wanted to use. problem Is I have called almost every local walmart/meijer/lowes/homedepot/menards and NONE have any heaters left under 35 each for 1500w ones and I need like 5 of them. They all say same thing. Seasonal item and they quit ordering them in december so won't get any more in so my chances of finding 5 of them for under 20 is about 1 percent so I am pouting and crossing my arms and going to consider kerosene heaters

Holy crap that is a GOOD heater for that price. Ratings 4.8 out of 5 that is pretty uncommon for one and 70,000 btu with a thermostat. The cheapest I have found here was like 130 for a 35,000 btu without a thermostat and was a junky one. Heck even walmart was charging 150 for one on Clarence that was 60,000 btu with no thermostat and couldn't find any info on cust reviews. It says not available in indianapolis market. I wonder if they would still ship it because for that cost for a 70 with thermo I would for sure prob jump on it

I work at an equipment rental company, and we rent these all the time. Most customers dont know that theyre kerosene and jus pour diesel in them, but they keep working. Hope that helps
