Anybody else in trying to buy a house now?

We've been looking since February, have probably looked at at least 50 homes, made offers on 3, keep getting outbid, even offering 11-12k over asking price. Finally found new construction that isn't built like shit. Anybody else trying to buy a house in this period of demand outstripping supply? It's seriously frustrating to be a buyer right now.

got one last year, paying up the @ss for it because its fking socal. A few thousand shy of a million... hence why i havent bought anything car audio related in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. http:////uploads/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif mortgage and property taxes s*ck donkey d*ck.

It took like 3 chances to get the house were in now. Bought it last year in August. The issue we kept having is the over estimated sale prices. We had one get appraised 35k lower than asking!

I've been looking since the beginning of the year and am getting frustrated with prices getting jacked up just because, as well as mortgage rates. Seen quite a few house, good amount of investor bought and flips with some shoddy work.

I just bought one a couple of months ago. Did pretty good, appraised at 245k, paid 206k.
god all u guys are rich.. my house worth 99k paid 15k for it (well my dad did 60 yrs ago lol) now we owe 35k on equity line (roof, windows heatpump, jacking up foundation etc) just trying to keep it from falling down..

I was gonna try by next year but so cal is too **** expensive for what I want, even in the inland areas.. don’t wanna be in San Bernardino and don’t wanna be in the desert areas.. everything I seen i like is $300k plus

these are all one of the many reasons I would never live in Socal. Just let my wife take her month long visit to see her family out there this month and let her remember why its so much better here. lol

idk about rich... working two jobs and a side business and still living paycheck to paycheck not having any disposable income nor any free time doesnt really sound rich. But then again I did choose to own a house over buying a fancy car so there's that.

yeah rent is crazy these days stepdaughter pays $1150 mo (army pays for that though) nice house but d a m n u can buy one for $650 here.. only thing about owning is when house is 20 yrs old everything breaks.. my kitchen floor about to fall in and i can fix the joist (did it on front of house) but air handler is under there so it'll cost me like $2k to have it moved so i can spend like $400 to fix the problem.. i need paint or siding can't afford that but every yr u wait to fix something price goes up (labor high af)

LOTS of that around here. I'm very thankful for spending 5 years in the home improvement industry. I've seen stuff with serious issues that will come up on inspections go for way over list price. I guess the big thing to do now is an appraisal clause because of the over inflated list price and offers and then the house doesn't appraise for anything close to that.

One of the first open houses I visited ended up selling for 22% OVER list price (nearly 200k asking price) and only the kitchen and master bath had been updated, everything else was still that dark colored 70s wooden panels from floor to ceiling. Some dumbass cash buyers got into a bidding war apparently.
