erie? no, sorry, thats the complete other side of PA. i got a quote from tweeter...$850+!!!! F*ck that! im gonna call this other place, but id rather do it for free, ya know? i just dont know enough about comps and fatmat to do it by myself.

ok, well im gonna start tommorrow. im just gonna try it myslef and learn on my way. but i have a question...

the stock speaker grills in my blazer are attached as 1 whold piece to the door panels/mid-panels. and i want to use the MB Quart grills. does any1 know how i can cut these stock grills out and attach the MB Quart grills so it wont look ghetto rigged and be loose? and also, im gonna need to get some 6"-6.5" adapter plates for the midpanels. since im going UP in size, can i buy these plates or will i have to make them? TIA

most people dremel the old one out and fiber the new one in for a stock look, prolly quicker and cheaper to make the adapter yourself.

whats dremel? and do you mean fiberglass by fiber? i have no idea how to fiberglass if thats what you mean.

a dremel is a rotary tool that has a huge number of assorted bits (cut off wheels, sanders, brushes ect). If you do a lot of hands on stuff its a great tool to have.

I upgraded my stock 5.25's in my 95 monte carlo. I talked to some other people that did it and they said it was easy, but the speakers I bought were actually 6.75" so I had alittle more trouble. I was able to get them in using a pair of tinsnips, a dremel, and an angle grinder. I didnt use any fiberglass, but I should have. I dont know if its possible to use the grills that came with the speakers and have it look good. I just stuck with the factory grills.

I'm not trying to scare you or anything, chances are your install will go better than mine, but problems do come up.
