Any way to test head unit?

Well I have had this headunit that has been sitting around for awhile and I am wanting to test it, the only thing is that when I was first installing my hu that I have in my car right now I made all the connections really good meaning soldering and electrical tapped the crap out of each wire and then tapped them all together.

Is there anyway that I can just test out of it powers on and everything without having to rip apart all my wires and everything?

Well, you want to check if it just powers on and works, well in that case, take the power wire and the yellow wire, twist those together and make them into one wire, connect that to your positive terminal on your battery, and then take the negative wire (black in most cases) and connect that to your negative terminal. When I say connect, i mean push the wire into the terminal, if it works, you should get power, the battery is 12v

Well my battery is 14.4 so will it still work or would I run the risk or frying it?

Thanks for the response I am leaning towards just taking my wires apart and testing it that way because if it does work I will be selling it and ya don't want to wreck something that isn't already broken.

Nexson has it exactly right. just twist the yellow and red wires together, hold them on the positive battery post, and then connect the ground wire to the negative post. the deck should power up. you might have to push the power button, but if the deck is good it will power on.
