Hey guys, using the setup in my sig. Cds play fine. EQ is set for cds and I dont turn my volume past 40.

Problem is, when I want to use my ipod (I set the volume at 3/4) the music is fine, but the bass does not really kick in. The sub moves, just not at the volume it does with cds.

The Ipod is connected using a basic aux cable plugged into the head unit.

Thanks guys!

I believe Chillins post above is the answer. I have the 780 and as Chillin has suggested the custom 1 EQ setting is source specific so if you are using custom 1 it is probably set to flat. Move the EQ to Powerfull and you should notice a big fifference then you can customize your custom 1 settings accordingly.

is it possible that the tracks stored on your ipod are possibly compressed and thus lacking a large amount of sub bass frequencies which is what is usually lost in compression?

just a suggestion, although like said above, it could be something stupid as well

they would have to be compressed really hard.

i use my 880prs with a pioneer ipod controller and the bass is fine. Its all i use. I used about 3/4 lossless 1/4 128 mp3's.

Check your ipods eq setting and also maybe your not setting the volume at the correct level on your ipod.

try to match your ipods output volume(on your head unit) to that of a cd in the head unit.

even though using the back RCA cable works its not the right way to do it and so forth why your not getting any bass. You need to either hook your i pod through the stereo port in the front. You will need to get a 3.5mm stereo to 2.5mm stereo jack. I got one at radio shack for $3.99. If you are going to go this route in order to get it to work. Turn off your stereo, then press and hold the turning nob until a screen comes up. you will be able to cycle through it you see aux1. Turn it on. Once you have turned your aux on press and hold the open button for 5 second the let go. the deck will flip down and a cd will stat in place if one is in the deck. Then plug the i pod into the deck using the stereo jack. Make sure that you have selected aux 1 and have at it.

The other way to hook your i pod up is with the i pod bus cable. in the back of your deck there is a slot to hook it. i believe it will run like $50. if you go this route this is AUX 2 repeat the step for aux 1 to turn it on. If you have any other question just ask
