Any watch lovers here?

I collect Bulova watches, I got several dozen ranging from my oldest a vintage deco 1946 to my best, a gold nugget Bulova Accutron that my dad bought when he was welding on the Alaskan pipeline in 1974. It is a beautiful watch that stays in my gun safe. It is 18K gold with over a OZ. of Alaskan gold nuggets on the case and band with a rams head sculpted out of gold with ruby eyes on each band side plate on the band. It is a work of art in my opinion.

I would love to see it. I've never been into the vintage stuff but I do appreciate the craftsmanship

A good watch is more than time keeping but thanks for your input
If you can name one function a watch provides that a cell phone can't I'll leave your thread alone.
Watches are an acceptable fashion accessory for males to wear on their wrist.

People often buy expensive watches to show off their wealth to other fancy people.

You don't wear a phone on your wrist. (smart watches are iffy)

Its good to have a cheap waterproof watch if you go on float trips, or do a lot of farm work. That way, you don't have to carry your phone with you to check the time. One of my co-workers broke his iphone when we were splitting wood.

One of my friends wears a watch, simply so he doesn't have to pull his phone out of his pocket to check the time. Its a whole other level of lazy. Not worth spending a whole lot of money on imo.

There are some times when I think a watch is good to have, but I don't understand why people spend a fortune on them.

Not saying a watch can perform things a smartphone can't, just saying I'd rather break a cheap watch

It just got me thinking today when I looked at my Tag. I haven't been easy with it except for the first few months and it no **** looks brand new. I got mine for $900 5 years ago and the same one list on Amazon for $1600 still, 5 years later. If you like watches that's a pretty good investment IMO. How many cheaper watches would you go through.
