Any Repo Men here???

Sorry but no. I am based in the Cincinnati area.
Alright, thanks. Saw your location said Kentucky.
Whew, I need to move.
$250/15
****, and every one is telling us that's not enough. County has told us up to $500 and $50 per day for storage. We just need the rollback, but we're taking care of that in a month or so. We also just got into illegal parking, so that's been keeping us busy alot, too.

Parking enforcement is very lucrative and IMHO is alot more dangerous that conventional repo work. More confrontations, and people are a bit less understanding when your towing them for parking violations. And the hassle of dealing with the violaters during the bailout is enough to drive you to drink.

State of Kentucky has limit on storage/impound charges believe it is $35/day.

I charge $20/day to keep it fair and actually have good number of people that actually bail an older vehicle out after you've had it a couple of weeks.

Agreed on all accounts. Parking and Code Enforcement make teh cash but are more dangerous.

In Florida, you need to be sponsored by an agent that hold a class E recovery license. Your sponsorship last for two years, where you will have your class EE recovery license. It's hard to get into. You can't have any felonies, no drug charges, nothing like that. Florida is one of the most strict states, and for good reason. About 9 local guys have been put in jail in the past 6 months for illegally repossessing. A lot of tow companies are going around repossessing without an E license also, and I'll be the first one to report them to the state. Our insurance is almost 20k a year, and we work hard to be where we're at, and aren't going to stand for some jackass in a self loader running around illegally snatching cars.

Yea, it's definitely something dangerous. We've been shot at, chased, spit on, called every name in the book, and I just can't stand it, it's only a job.

We try to make it a quick grab, so there is no time for confrontation, but it happens sometimes. Some of the local LEO's will tell you drop the car if we're trying to repo it and the debtor comes out and makes a scene, and some will tell them to get out of the car and let us do our job, it all depends where we're at.

For repo storage, depending on the lien holder, we charge anywhere from $10 to $30 a day storage, and the first 10 days are free. We also charge a $125 personal property fee. If the debtor is redeeming the vehicle, they have to pay our repo fees, plus storage. It all depends how nice the debtor is though. If they are calm, we will try to work with them as much as we can, if they are loud and make a scene, we'll bill their ***** as much as we can.

Right now, as we stand, we're owed out almost $50,000. the lien holders and banks don't want to pay, the car goes to impound. We have about 20 cars sitting in impound, with titles on the way to us. The car will then be auctioned off for what ever our fees are.

Knowing how to handle different types of people makes all the difference. Within the first 5 seconds of dealing with a debtor they will tell you what they are about.Finding that place between being assertive and sympathetic is a fine line and works for most confrontations. The other people you need to just drag it out of the driveway and onto neutral ground and let the popo calm there silly ***** down.

I have dropped my pp fees from $75 to $50 just because of the amount of property I was having to store for 45 days. In some cases I will swap property for transponder keys and the key fob. And it is attitude dependent.

That's what the law is, as long as we get it off the debtor's property, they have no where to stand.

We will usually do that, trade keys for property. The law here is that personal property has to be held for atleast 45 days after sending a property letter out. The guy we rent out yard from has a shitload of them big dumpsters, so we throw out all the shit that never gets picked up. I was cleaning the property shed the other day, and found shit from Febuary.
