My uncle has been doing it for 20 years, and I'm interested in it, I know of all the dangers from the stories I've heard and I went with him on one last night. He had to get a 2007 BMW M6 convertible. Luckily he didn't come out, I'm just wondering if anyone else here is interested in this profession and if any of you do it or have any stories to tell.

my dad has done that a few times. even had a few shot guns pulled on him. he does not like to repo though. too dangerous, plus he is 50 now and i would prefer he not do it

Most I have seen they have a key for it and drive off in it. I saw a vid of some chicks SUV getting repo'd while she was at the club. She walked out while the dude was opening it up and tried to jump in.

ya the dealership has the title and can make a key from the vin number ..

Ah I see. So they contact the dealers first because there the ones probably paying the repo men unless it's through a bank. And all of that is legal and what not for them to just go "steal" the car back?

Most are done with a self loader...controls inside the cab, it takes us under a minute to grab and go. Some times the cars are posisioned so they can't be towed, like when the guy wants to be an ******* and cut the wheels, so we will get a key cut.
