Yeah because you have more amps you can choose from.

If it's single 4, you have to find an amp that puts out @ 4 ohms.

If it's dual 4 you can wire it to 2 ohm or 8 ohm. Just more choices to choose from.

um...I guess; I had ordered a DVC 4ohm (meaning I can do 2 or 8 ohm), however my amp is only 4ohm stable bridged. Had I known a DVC 4ohm sub meant each voice coil, would've saved some time. But now I got the same sub, but the 2ohm DVC, and hooked up series I'm all good.

oh - I got the eD e12kx.22; nice sub for lower power applications (
