I have w6's. They sound pretty nice. They shine in certain areas, fall short in others. For the price, there are better options.

Other than SPL, I've never heard of an area where the W6v2 fail to shine that couldn't be blamed 100% on the install. Many people whose opinion I trust explicitly when it comes to speakers consider the W6v2 their reference sub (they, like I, don't care about SPL).

If you bought them because you want to get attention, they're the wrong subs. If you got them to provide the bottom octave and round out an otherwise complete system, you should be very pleased.

as far as sq with great output, thier hard to beat. they do need a good box and good real power. the 13w6 in a ported box with a solid 1000 watts rms will sound very good and have a good "slam" factor also. a lot of people have the idea that jl subs are for spl and that is not the case. they are designed for sq not spl. as an sq driver, they are one of the best due to the fact that they have excellent sound and very good output doing it.

I have two 13.5 w6v2's in sealed boxes as of now. They sound pretty good, like everyone says, great SQ but not exactly insane spl. I'm going to be trying them in a ported setting soon, hopefully it adds a the little SPL I'm looking for with em. I'm feeding them both 500 watts off a 1000/1.

I can careless about SPL myself. The w6's still provide more output than I'd possibly need. They are nice subs, but I don't think they are superb. There are many other manufacturers out there, like image dynamics, who's subs sound superior. Very tight, accurate, and at a lower price.

The w6's are good in their own right, but stacked against some of the competition at that price point, I don't find them entirely justified.

JL W6 are great sounding subs but over priced IMO.
