i can tell you about some other options and show you the benefits of them compared to JL woofers. might even be able to lovate a few cars for you to listen to.

JL has THE BIGGEST r/d department in ALL of car audio...the time and money it takes to come up with a break-thru product is not cheap...and its gotta come form some where...

Mostly true, as well- there are sides to everything that must be considered. And that is both opinion and actual knowledge. JL does not make the loudest subwoofer in the world. And though it is subjective, who is saying they make the best SQ equimpent in the world?

I never said JL was bad- i just said (well, in general) that i dislike the way that they are thought to be infallable and "you can't go wrong" with JL equipment.

My opinion. Definitely subject to objection...

Anyways....have you tried negotiating with any of your local dealers. In my area, it is not hard to pick up equipment (yes, JL included) for much more than internet prices if you talk to and try to negotiate with the salesman. It's not hard to come by JL products for roughly what other brands will cost.

I can personally recommend JL. I have 3 12w6v2s that hit so incredible hard and sound amazingly clear. They are sealed with about 1 cube and 600wrms each.

I have heard a 13W7 on a 1000/1 ported. Very Loud and crystal clear.

Heard a 12w7 on a 1000/1 ported and sealed. Again amazing all around.

w6v2's are alot more affordable than the w7 and will do almost as good. I havent heard anything that sounds better than the w7, BUT I HAVENT HEARD ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED BRANDS.

My friends is waiting on his 15XXX and we are going to build a box for it and I will compare. But until then... JL is great stuff, price is up there for sure. But the engineering is excellent, just all around. From the hidden mounting rings to the VC configs all on one side. You adjust the impendence of the sub with 2 inch long jumper wires. AMAZING little things liek that. Push in terminals for the speaker wire, etc.

again, ebay is definitly the best place for cheap JL. again, I have an excellent conditon Physical and comsetic 12w6v2 (bought 4 only used 3) for sale. will go for no lower than 275 plus shipping

Jl makes some of the best subs out there. However, some people would rather just buy from internet brands such as SoundSplinter, RE, Adire, etc. and get very similar performance at a much more reasonable price.

By all means, since you already OWN a w6v2, one of the best SQ subs on the market, get another w6v2. As for where is the cheapest, idk about this site's credibility, but their prices are pretty close to what you'll find on ebay.

I peronaly think that JL makes outstanding products, And If you have the cash

to spend on JL that you will not be dissapointed. However wouldn't it be fun to run a not so mainstream brand and be able to blow away all JL systems in you'r local area? And also be able to say you did it for under 2k? Thats exactly what I plan on doing with my new set up. In my small town all everyone knows about is Jl Audio.
