Any ideas what happened?

Ok, so my buddy finally got his stereo installed. An Eclipse CD3000, Treo 75.4 pushing factory speakers for now and a Treo 250.2 pushing two Treo SSi 12's. We tweaked it a little and it was pounding pretty good. While we were driving, he put in old school Bass Mechanic and sounded pretty good and then the subs stopped playing. We pulled over and the amp wasnt in protect mode, all fuses are fine. The sub came back for like 2 seconds and pounded again, then went back out again. Now the subs don't pound at all. Just a little movement coming from them. Any ideas on what happened or what to look for? Any info would be appreciated and please copy the reply to boricua2480@yahoo.com also so I can read while away from the computer via phone. Thanks.

probably a faulty install killed the amp. way to underpower those 12"s by the way. those things better have 1000 watts plus per woofer ported to really wang.
cuz we all know under powering kills subs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

did i say anything about kiling subs, no. those of us that have experience with those woofers know what they need to sound good. they arent even as loud as the tsx, they just play deeper.

The install is top notch. It was done by an authorized Treo/Eclipse/PG/JL/Quantum/etc dealer. The install is real clean and here's the deal...the 75.4 was said to be "As new" and the 250.2 supposed to be BNIB. I checked both out and they are both in perfect condition. But his rear speakers weren't playing, so he said oh well, don't need rear fill anyways since the fronts were playing great. Then comes the issue with the 250.2 and subs...the subs are fine (although a little underpowered with what the rms rating is) but the amp was checked and something's wrong with that amp too. Never heard of anybody local with probs with TREO amps ever. He wasn't even pushing it real hard. They just cut out all together, then came back on when my face was in front of the woofers and almost blew my face off, then I noticed that it was missing a beat, like part of the music wasn't playing through one of the channels, basically its F'd up.
