Any good 4 x 6 Speakers?

All but two days ago I bought a pair of Powerbass 4 x 6 Coaxial Speakers. Today, they blew. Freakin things sounded like garbage from the second i put them in. I regret buying powerbass speakers, seeing as I could of boughten a better brand of speaker worth my money. My headunit puts out 45watts x 4 if thats any help. Just looking to see what you guys would recommend, Thanks alot.

Well for starters, I don't think "boughten" is a word, second I ran pioneers for a while. Sounded pretty nice but the real way to solve ur problem is to just get adapters or make ur own. Upgrade to 6.5 or 5.25

it doesnt sound that bad actually, its not the plastic one, its the other one with the fat lip part on the outside. Anyways I plan to upgrade next spring when i get my income tax.

for deck power walmart pioneers are a good bet to sound decent for really cheap, if you want a great speaker i can get you the mbquarts at dealer cost. but seriously you should do 5.25 or 6.5 they are much better by far.

they would fit? cause the new 4 x 6's i got that blew barely fit in the hole, not much depth to work with in my s10 lol

Look into Image Dynamics, they make a really nice 4x6. Also infinity makes a decent plate 4x6.

I still dont understand how they blew when my reciever only puts out 25watts rms, and it says the speakers were rated for 35 watts rms. Weird aint it?

No not really..if your distorting the crap out of them and the voice coil gets warm they will fry..just like anything else car audio related. Get the Image Dynamics, you wont be dissappointed

Look into Image Dynamics, they make a really nice 4x6. Also infinity makes a decent plate 4x6.

x2 on the Infinity plate..I had a set in my truck on my zx350.4 and they sounded awesome..they also have a little button on them to make the tweeter louder...

I guess I learned the hard way, now i can learn from my mistake, and buy better speakers, and not distort them lol.

Put a bass blocker or a crossover on them. I blew a ton back in the day cause I ran full range into them. I have a Like New Set of OLD school Kicker Impulse 4x6's with swivel tweeters.

You can also get adapters to put a 4" speaker in there instead. Thats what I did
