Any free programs for DVDs to my ipod?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any free programs that can take my dvds and make them into files that I can put on my ipod.

I know you can do it with DVDfab decrypter but you have to get the upragded version, which costs $$.

the best one imo is cucusoft video converter. There is a version for ipod and zune. It's on limewire but get one with the keygen. It also converts dvds and almost every video format. I haven't found a file it wouldn't convert yet
