luck of the draw i guess, first time i've heard of blown mids on them, usually alot of tweeter failures are common w/the hex line

i take it you did not get'm from a DA dealer...?

i blew my Da Hex mids about 3 weeks ago... cost my 150$ to get the replaced... since i didnt have a warranty.. i took them in to a shop they carried DA and they opened up a new set and just replaced them... for a fee....but o well.. atleast i didnt have to wait for them.....

I've heard of Diamond tweeters blowing out all the time, but this is the first time I've heard of a mid going. Not like I would ever buy or recommend diamonds anyways. They are nasty harsh.

question... lets say the mid died becuase i may have clipped it to death in 1 day....

isnt both mids suppose to blow? 1 is still playing fine.

they could be a little different, there are factors that could cause one to blow and one not to

possibly there could be a malfunction in the crossover section dealing with the mid, or that particular mid had poor build assembly

what kind of wattage were you sending? the are rated for 170rms, so power should not be an issue for the blowing

plazman, if you dont mind how do u like the m6? (obviously not the blown mid) but as far as in car sound? i liked them in store, but couldnt find anyone to hear them in a car. I know people say theyre harsh but thats a sound i like, ive always loved infinity tweets and most other alum's.

yea, ssame here.. i friend my orion xtr 800.4 and clipped and fried my mids at the same time... the R mid worked for about 3 days but it eventually died out...

i didnt pay but 200$ for my set as well... and ddint use them but less than a month, so i just went ahead and had them replaced... if u decided to sell yours, let me know...

3.5max6spd - im using a vga 800.2 - with the gains all the way down.

Im thinking my audiocontrol eqx sent a clipped signal to the amp. i didnt have the gains on that set properly. Im using the full range output on the eqx with the highpass on the amp. i think im crossed at 50 (lowest on amp )

Strecker25 - bro.. i wish i knew how to give a review for a speaker. to me. they sound loud and clear. plenty of midbass with the 6.5's. tweets are a bit harsh. overrall. good. make the step up and get the hex.

i3abyjay25 - do you want the whole set or just the mid? PM me. im really just looking for a replacement, but im sure we can work something out.
