Well the family and I will be spending a couple days in Chicago in about a week, and I am REALLY looking forward to getting some great deep dish pizza. However the place we had planned to go is apparently a little out of the way, so I'm looking for some suggestions. We will be staying at the Hilton on Grand Ave, so just throw out your favorite places within a few miles of there.

Also, I don't know how far this is from that Hotel, but we will probably go out after going to Second City, so places near there would work great too.

Thanks all.

Aaron

That was definitely one I was looking at. The one we were going to was Lou Malnatti's, but I don't know that I really want to go to a chain. Even a small one.

I may have to mail-order some Lou's though. They have a 4-pizza deal going on that wouldn't be any more expensive than getting decent pizza around here. Would be nice to have some good pizza just sitting in the freezer.

Oops, I didn't realize Giordano's was a chain too. Any good mom and pop places to check out? Would like to try a place only the locals really know about

Who cares if they are a chain? Their pizzas are the SHIT.

I disagree with Giordanos... I'm all about Gino's East. Love that buttery crust.. Love those sausage patties, love the cheese, and you can't beat the atmosphere of that place

and make sure you check out "Millenium Park" pretty cool site for tourists. Don't go to the top of the Sears...its pretty lame now... was cool when I was like 5

If possible jump on the L. Its very easy to get around the city. Swing by Wrigley field, catch a ball game for 40 bucks, then continue to party at the 500 bars in that 1 mile radius.

Pequads pizza. Look it up, they have a down town location and is by far the best pizza i have ever had. It was rated #1 by maxim in the country. Mmmm lucky for me its about a 4 minute drive, i had deep dish last night. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You foreigners and your pizza............lol

Giordanos is good. Gino's east. Pizzaria Uno or Due

I'd go to Home Run Inn. Not deep dish, but really good. You can get that frozen though right? All except Home Run Inn are in that area you will be staying in.

As long as I've lived here which is all my life, I have yet to try Lou Malnati's. heard good things tho

Father and Sons or LaVilla.... go with the stuffed

Then - Lou Malnatti's, Nancy's, and Vito and Nicks

Giordanos last.

Been to Gino's East. Definitely good, but wasn't overly impressed. I will have to check out that Pequod's. We may check out Millenium Park as well.

We will only be doing one Pizza place (only there for three days). I think we'll check out Smoque BBQ for lunch on the way back. Any suggestions for other restaurants?
