another window tint ticket...

i need some suggestions. My first offense was some bullshit... kid infront of me did a burn out in a 07 dodge hemi, i was behind him and all the smoke went under my car cop pulled me over for reckless driving swore he saw my car get sideways going around the corner (from a dead stop) even though its a front wheel drive car. ontop of the reckless he gave me two window tints, rear sides being "non transparent" and windsheild stripe more than 6"... long story short got both them dropped to parking tickets kept my tint.

now.... in another town (2 hours away) i got another ticket.... i was pulled over with the windows down but the cop made me roll them up and he put them on the gun (9%). my car is a 4 door so the back windows dont roll down all the way which i think is where he got me legally even though he made me roll up my fronts (bullshit... i even told him i drive with my windows down in the winter he didnt believe it). what im wondering is... everyone ive ever talked to has said send the ticket in no guilty they dont even bother with it... but being my 3rd ticket you think ill get away with it? i have the option of removing it and getting my car inspected but id perfer to keep the tint, even if it means paying a fine. but i got pulled over on the block infront of my house the cop saw me pull out of my driveway, as he patrols the area i think he might pull me over again even if i get the tint taken care of. he told me now that he knows my windows are dark if he sees me and watches me "roll them down when i see him" it is reason for him to pull me over agian....

take it off, get it inspected and dont put it back on?

only reason im worried about that is, he knows my place now (and might remember me after the words that were spoke)... think he may pull me over again, knowing he can give me a ticket even if my windows were already down? problem with this is, that eliminates the possibility of getting the car inspected and re tinting it, he might nail me again

seems like an a55hole cop to begin with. probably safer to just have it pulled and retinted leagally. Otherwise you will have a bighead ache everytime he sees you. ecspecially if your ride stands out among others.

just get it redone to where its legal. dark tint does not prevent your car from being broken in to anyway.

Don't you still have to remove it if you plead guilty and pay the fine?

BTW- elect court option and don't show up in court a few times (reschedule each time). After a few times hopefully he will not show automatically allowing you to win the case. If he pulls you over again and writes you another ticket, change the tint before the court date, and when it tests legal, get his *** for harassment!

that sucks about the back windows man. I believe here in Iowa you can have it dark as you want in back but fronts has to be 70%. sucks to be you I guess. Oh and my advice is just to get it retinted legally.

well... for the record i do drive in NY windows down (only when radar detector goes off) and yes, the thruway at 70mph snow still on the mirrors SUCKS when you roll the windows down. but on the other hand id HATE to go without tint, i love my tint.

and if i pull it to pass the ticket i refuse to retint it at 70% no way. if i put anything back on it will be dark, or im back to having nothing

NY law is... rear window can be painted if you have side mirrors. what i was unaware of is... rear doors or even 1/4 windows in a CAR are illegal at 70% (basically any tint) what is bullshit is an SUV is allowed to have hear DOORS tinted (not fronts). where i got nailed was my rear doors i can only roll them down halfway due to child shit.

the cop told me he was very strict on the window tint tickets because it his a "safetly concern to an officer" basically he could be walking up to your car and not see if you have a gun drawn on him (no im not dark enough that i need to smile for him to see me). which i think is bullshit because my windows were all rolled down when he stopped me, he could see the only thing in my hand was my ****ing liscence

just a quick FYI...the rear windows dont roll down fully in most sedans because the door isnt big enough to hide the window fully. the "child safety" is a way to get you to accept that fact. if they said "oh its cause it not big enough" people would complain. with the child safety BS, you will feel good that it goes down only half way, when all they need is an electrical window lock

alright i already told the story of my first time gettin pulled over, the burn out in a big bad chrylser sebring haha i dont think so. this time.. i backed outta my driveway i cop was coming down the steet ended up behind me. he follows me down the road right on my *** i do like 31 the whole time in a 30, im not one of those people that gets so ****in nervous i gotta do 19mph. so i get to a 4 way stop.. i make sure i come to a complete stop, even though the two people going across me roll through not seeing the cop. so i accellerate from the stop sign going straight. ill admit i always get on it a little, but didnt squeel the tires. hes still at the stop sign about to pull ahead, he flips his lights on. whne he flipped his lights on i was already off the gas, prolly going 32. he pulls me over and asks if i saw him, yea obviously. he says just because you F*CKING saw me you think im going to give you a liency? its not 8mph over the speedlimit i was doing 30 and you were pulling away from me. note i have a $300 radar detector it was going off so ****ing loud i unplugged it before the stop sign.

i swear everytime i get ****ed with (the i saw your car get sideways one was the best) i say im going to get a tape recorded but i never do. if i only had a tape recorder id have 3 cops fired now for harrassment. I told a cop once it "must be nice to be able to talk on your cell phone while driving" and he tossed me against his car and threatened to arrest me and then some.

the cop with the reckless driving came up to my window... "your fathers going to be real proud of this one isnt he" ****ing bastards.

i did get out of an inspection violation with an opened 18pack on my front seat while 19 years old once though so i guess i cant complained. cop knew someone who knew someone who knew me, asked if any beers had been opened that day, took a look and gave them back to me!
