Another Shocker motor to restore

I picked this up in trade. It is an old Shocker Sig. The back plate has plenty of rust and the top plate shows all of the usual signs of wear that are typical of raw steel motors. I have sanded the rust off of the back plate. I will post pics of my progress. I am most likely going to build a sweet little 12.

Thats 1 motor i have always wanted to build up.. James I see you in here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Send me a Sig!! HAHAHA!

I used a plain old soft sponge sander to get most of it off then switched to finishing sandpaper for some of the tougher stuff. No chemicals. I swear by those sanding sponges... I am quite impressed at how they can clean some tough stuff off of raw steel withough damaging it.
