Another RE audio sub down.. Is it just me?

Back in 2013 I bought a re srx12d4, sounded so good and clean that even after a year of one tinsel lead break I decided to replace it with a new one. Considering RE audio charged the same price for a new one to have it reconed. So here we are today.. Yesterday I blew another tinsel lead... Just after another year of having this one. So.. Is it just me or do these just go out yearly? I want to replace it with something of the same. No upgrade, just keep all the specs the same without breaking the bank. I think I payed $150 for each. Help, ideas, thoughts? Thanks dudes!

- Amp: Boston acoustics gt-2125 bridged for 600rms.

- enclosure: Vented 3/4 MDF 36Hz 1.8 cubic ft. 1.3 if you just count internal space.

you have a 12 in 1.4 cubes? it should be no less than 2. heres the deal, make a better box and buy a soundqubed hds3 12 and call it a day
This or an American Bass XFL..Both take a brutal beating on my end,and sound good doing it..Nice recommendation by the way sir:2thumbs:

Just an update. I resoldered the tinsel lead and left a good amount of slack. I'm already waiting for it to break. I want to just upgrade to a re sex12d4 or hds212 since they both match the 600rms amp I have. But I need a ported box. Help meeeeee! And thanks for the suggestions fellas!

Edit: I'm sure trunk dimensions would help as well.

The measurements of the opening I got were 34'' wide by 15.5'' deep (pretty tight opening). Close to 57'' diagonal, 54'' at widest point, 47'' wide between the wheel wells.

that's why I told him to build a box no less than 2 cubes for a 12. for a SQ sub over 2.5 for the 12 for sure. and he can always upgrade his power, that 600 watt amp can give it a lil bit of action meanwhile he finds a good amp

Box is WAYYYY to small for a soundqubed subwoofer....
He has 600 watts RMS. Don't suggest a 1200rms woofer...

He doesn't want to upgrade.

Lol.. I love the fast responses on this site. Anyways, with my current situation (wife, kid,$) I love this amp too much and the space it leaves for trunk use. I'm really just leaning towards either the hds212 or sex12. If I had it my way the trunk would be all play no storage. But that's life. I will admit the box I'm using is a pre fab from sonic that was matched with it (kit).
