This may sound dumb but I have no idea. Does the actual heatsink have to connect into the motherboard? Or that just the fan?

Because I am pretty sure my processor did not come with a processor fan. Theres abo****ely no plugin for it anywhere. Well at least I cannot find it :p

I'm thinking of just buying a very good heatsink replacement if there are no plugins for a processor fan. Maybe my case was engineered to bring flow from the main fan to the processor, not really sure.

alot of old pc's did not have fans only heat sinks.and others namely intel on the slower speed chips had a case fan with a shroud or sqaure port looking thing directing the airflow over the cpus heat sink.

as far as attatching goes the heatsink goes over the chip on the mother board and the fan goes screwed into the heatsink.

i highly reccoment the vantec aeroflow heatsink fan combo if you have a mid speed chip say amd 1gig-2300+ works very well and is motorless and almost silent like $30-35
