so i worked on the whip a bit today.

i went to the rat shack and got a few goodies;

12v relay

5x3x7 project box

some female DC power connectors

went around with my girlfriend to a few places (target, petsmart, around) and then i came home to find a box on the front porch. was pretty small. maybe 9"x7"x12". so i go to pick it up, and it weighs a freggin TON.

i was quite taken aback, so i heaved it inside, layed my crap on the table and took some pictures.

so i ran upstairs and put it on the scale and it weighed in at THIRTY-NINE POUNDS!;

so i go back downstairs, and slice it open and find muchos goodies!!;

all of wich were free (PM AUDIOLIFE for info on one of these suckers, i am not at liberty to release the price i paid);

obligitory beer shot (no, i didnt drink that)

so i ran out and got my DMM;

pretty dern good for a dry run!! (yes, i know there is a giant hole in the screen. it was given to me like that)

so i rip out the old battery

fabbed up a new mounting bracket to hold it in place, and fabbed up some little straps to make my own 'side posts' - dont know what im gonna do to make them shielded yet. but im thinking and open to ideas

engine shot - thats one tiny battery for 1150 CA eh?;

specs on battery - i wish there were side posts.

then about 45 minutes ago, i started putting together the fuseblock box. and i came up with this so far;

there will be more, they just didnt have any more terminals in that style. so ill have to get somthing else. but its designed like this;

it has 5 fused REM terminals that are setup like so;

headunit -> relay -> distro -> fuse -> amp\accessory\processor remote turnon

and it has 6 fused 12~14v power terminals to power my three rackmount processors.

technically, i can drive it right now. but the problem is i have no plates, one of the doors has no inner\outer skin, and some of the panels are not 100% mounted because i dont have enough rivets.

Also, what's up with the battery mount? Your work is ususally sexier than that? Do you know anyone who works in a machine shop or auto body shop that can fabricate something cool for you?
