Another bad 15A story

Well, i waited 3 months for my 15a, and then after 3 days of use my tsunami amp from eD broke.Then i wait another 2 months for my amp back, and then after another 3 days of use, my 15a broke yesterday. So in the last 5 months ive only actually played it for 6 days. I guess i just have the worst luck ever. Yesterday just playin it at some normal levels and heard some loud tapping, went and checked, and the former separated from the cone and then smashed into the flat cone a couple of times and eventuly cracked the cone within seconds. Ill have to send it out tomorrow and i hope i dont have to wait months again before i have bass.

all ive heard is how ED continues to mess up :-\ what gives here? thats a very common thing when they are given too much power. how many watts did you have going to it? i also ehard a guy talking about how he wasnt impressed with his A. they are supposed to be as good as the w7

mine was hooked up to a tsunami 1100 in the eD reccomended box 2.2 cf tuned to 30hz

yeah, I ordered my two 15A's today, and edesigneric said the new batch should be out by the end of the week. Plus, I caved in for 3 day shipping, cost me 18 extra! I coudlnt beleive I did that but after hearing nightmare stories about ED shipping times I caved. PLus as a 13W7 owner I will be able to give a great comparison between the two....I have heard however that the 15A doesnt quite measure up to the W7...but ill see for myself

You do hear Crap about subs breaking and stuff like that, but for every 1 dissatisfied person theres 20 more who is satisfied.

i haven't heard the eD A, but i doubt they r as good as the w7. maybe the w6, but hte w7 is considered one of the best subs. i dont htink the A is in that level.

Agreed... people are 100 times more likely to post about being pissed off than they are about being totally happy with their purchase.

Having a broken sub feels 20 times worse than how good you would feel having a working one. You are out of the money with nothing to show for it. Car audio is expensive and quite a bit of shit happens. I've learned to live with it. If I can live with it i'm pretty sure most other will beable to also.

You really shouldn't make product reliability determinations based on several posts on the internet, because people are far more likely to post about their bad experiences than they are about their good experiences, since people are often shunned for making such "common" posts.

The failure rate is actually very low, it's just been consistently hyped up by people taking some internet posts out of context and not realizing that they are not exactly being exposed to a representative sample (which is a simple fact easily confirmed when you consider the number of drivers that are problem free vs those with the production problems).

ALL companies have drivers fail, you just don't always hear about it...
