Another amp for 5 1/4" in rear?

I just installed my first sub a couple months ago. The two 5 1/4" I have in the back now seem a bit lacking. I'd like to get some new 5 1/4" and I was wondering if I need to get something that will require an amp to power them or if there is a decent 5 1/4" that will hold it's own with just an aftermarket pioneer HU. I only have one 12" powerbass S12 and some Infinity 3 1/2" in the front for highs, so it's really not too much for the mids to keep up with. I think mine just ****. So, amp needed or just some better speakers? Any suggestions on either?

Get some nice front speakers and an amp to power them then disconnect the rears

Are there good 5 1/4" for the fronts that would be able to handle from ~63hz all the way up to the highs? Some of the music I listen to seems to sound bad if I play higher than ~63hz (built in HU filter setting) through the sub. ...Or would that problem perhaps go away if I had some better mid range speakers?
