Annoying ringing noise

My friend has recently ran into a problem with his system. When he starts a car a annoying whineing noise starts comeing from his interior speakers, and when he accelerates the noise becomes a little louder. Any suggestions to what this may be?

All the wireing seems to be in place, there is a copper wire comeing from the head unit connected to nothing (ground?). But when tinkering with it there is no change of the whine.....

If its a ringing noise, it must be his phone, tell him to answer it..

Any external amplifiers?

Ground the head unit directly to the battery with 10awg wire or so and see if the noise goes away...

He has 2 amps, 1 for his interior speakers and one for his subs I dont know the specs of either though.

hmm, I am guessing you mean his alternator is just not powerful enough? If so this problem only started recently, why would it just start out of the blue?

no alternator whine is caused by your wiring. double check all of it.

exactly what I was going to say. The wiring your friend has is either loose or cut somewhere. Check everything. Other wise he gets to deal with the pesky whine of his pissed off car.
