The only thing ios and windows phone have over android is hardware accel in everylast mnu and option...besides that android gives u the freedom to do what ever u want thanks inpart to it being an open platform.....custom kernels and basesfor every rom rocks...not to mention cyanogen>>>anything

have you tried chingy's Incredibly re-engineered rom (currently v2.4)? it is hands down THE fastest rom for our phones IMO. battery life for me isnt as good as CM6.1 running invisiblek's #19, 21, etc kernels, but this rom is so fast, it makes CM and others seem laggy. haha

Redemption Revolution is as well. Its a hybrid mix between the DInc and the Evo framework. Basically it just mashes the best of both frameworks together into one.

Dont ever use a task killer. They waste battery life trying to save it.
Once you can root and then use a custom rom. If you dont want a rom run the stock Gingerbread with a different kernel for improved battery life. As far as apps go grab the Amazon app store. They give away a new paid app every day. Its a great way to rack up paid apps on your account for nothing.

He cant get amazon till the new root is out for it, att blocks 3rd party apps.

If it wasnt funny lookin with that little center key it would be somthing to wait for. But i havent sen much of a difference. I thought the galaxy s 2 was just over clocked and a bit of change to the form factor.

I still love my BB 9700. Best multi-tasking phone out IMO. It fits my needs perfectly and I run os6 on it, so the browsing is a little bit better. Enough for me. I use my phone for more communication over an entertainment device anyway.

Had a mytouch3G, Cliq, Optimus T and Captivate and sold them all on CL to get another Android till I finally said enough and went back to BB. I can do all that those other phones can do, some have some pro's over BB, such as games or browsing, but I have a PSP for on the go..a desktop at home or a laptop...so I get by fine on my 9700.

I will be getting a Bold Touch when that comes out.

Oh and I used custom ROM's and Kernals on Android as well. I actually liked my old iPhone better than Android OS.

I loved my old blackberry Tour as well and the wife had a Bold... loved the phones but general internet surfing was unbearably slow and VERY irritating to use compared to Android... enough to make me switch. there's really no apps for those phones either (compared to true smart phones)

no it also is running a dual core cpu....galaxy s 2 will be the best phone of the year outside of the evo 3d

I have no issues with browsing on the internet. I actually dont get why people bish about it so much.

On 3G or Wifi it flies, hell even EDGE does fine, just cant watch youtube vids for crap, but does everything else, just about 5 seconds slower...Yes Android and iPhone have better/faster internet capabilities, but not night and day difference besides screen size. That is the only thing I honestly wish for is a bigger more vivid screen. So if the Bold Touch isnt for me, then Monza BB it is..
