I hate my Droid Eris... It's gotten to the point where the hardware can't keep up with the new software, it crashes constantly, and can't run half the apps I want it to.. I'm going to be going to an iPhone this summer just simply for functionality, all of the apps are designed for that specific hardware so I won't have problems like I do now. Droid just kinda took a shit on me.

Yea thats just the one real big leg up the iPhone has on the comp i mean every app they have is compatible with the iphone, i downloaded this theme and it crashed my phone i had to wipe everything off of it. I mean i came from an iPhone 4 to the Motorola Atrix due to its cheer specs blows iphone out of the water but im beging to think what good is phone with all this power but not the right apps/devs behind it its like having 2 18'subs and a 300 w dual amp trying to power it but i guess ill wait to see what the root can do

Themes are based on the framework.res files and they are different for every piece of hardware out there. In some cases you can get them to work if the phones use the same stock Android and run on a similar framework. It takes the Dev's a while to do this, its not a full time job.

I just look at it like it may be stronger and be able to do more, but I don't need to do those things. I mean I use my smart phone apps and shit but I don't root or anything, I just want it to run right for the two years I have it.

Yea i honestly think iPhone is alot more smooth in that aspect but im just a total geek for new tech i like to hack and push my phone to the limits but this atrix/ android is very sloppy in comparison to the iPhone i mean i will give it some time but idk i got 30 days to return it so ill just wait untill day 28 if i dont like end up liking it ot make the return.......

There is 1 OS and its locked down like a mother ****** out of the box with a censored app store. No wonder everything works.

Im just stating facts, right now yes my atrix has better specs more horse's under the hood but with no root yet and the shotty app store its like i have a crackhead driving a evo with a turbo NOT A GOOD LOOK

+1 for root and rom (whenever you're able). My Incredible has wireless tethering and other goodies, its great

i love my incredible. dying to get the thunderbolt, but i cant upgrade until december. what rom are you running?

I know a few people that have "upgraded" from the DInc to the TBolt. Every last one of them went back and returned the TBolt. I run Redemption Revolution. I also really like Magnolia.

Did you try any other phones?? I honestly believe HTC makes a smoother (interface) phone than Moto.. My phone is easily just as fluid and snappy as an iphone 4

have you tried chingy's Incredibly re-engineered rom (currently v2.4)? it is hands down THE fastest rom for our phones IMO. battery life for me isnt as good as CM6.1 running invisiblek's #19, 21, etc kernels, but this rom is so fast, it makes CM and others seem laggy. haha

I havent tried very many roms, but the ones I have tried are all sense based. I like the Sense based roms the best. I do use HeyItsLou v8. I can get a good day out of my phone without charging with probably 100+ text's, hour or so gaming, and then another 1-2 hours on the net mixed in with a ton of phone calls.

i like both types of rom's, but the current one im on now is sense. on CM6.1 with invis #19 kernel, i could go over an hour or 2 just on the first 10%. now its back to dropping off to 90% really quick.

Just this atrix i was looking at the htc inspire but it was missing a few things i wanted in a phone but i may just return the atrix and see how i like the inspire if no root exploit comes out anytime soon
