An extremely stupid question

why is there smoke?
Well I have 2 4 ohm single voice coil subs connecting up to a clarionapx1300 amp its a mono block that puts out 400watts at 2 ohm

I understand that to wire 2 4 ohm subs down to 2 ohms you do this

Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams, Two 4 ohm Single Voice Coil (SVC) Speakers

does that mean I can just put both the positives on 1 positve chanel and both the negatives on 1 negative chanel and achieve the same thing

also what are the percs of gaining 50 extra watts if there is any?

have the speaker wire run from one terminal on the sub to the other, then take another wire from the amp to the same terminal on the second sub, twist them together.

you will probably not hear any difference with only a few watts.

thanks for the help I told you guys it was a stupid question //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

50 watts will not make any difference in most cases

but if you are going from a no name amp that claims "350 watts per channel" and is the size of your phone and comparing it to say a Rockford amp, then yes, you will notice a change.
