Amplifier Suggestions: Money inside!

I'm wanting to purchase an amp in the next couple hours, but have no idea as to what to get.

I'm looking for something to drive my 3 RE 8"s. So, something that will do from 500 - 700 watts at 2.67 or .67 ohms. You'll need to post a link to where I can purchase it.

My budget is $300.

Whoever suggests the amp I purchase will recieve $7.50 via paypal.

Thanks alot boys.

A gain potentiometer on an amplifier is not a volume/output control, all amplifiers should provide their total rated output regardless of the gain position setting.

The volume or subwoofer level on the HU is the one you need to be careful with.

That said having the extra power available for headroom purposes is a good thing, if the HiFonics isn't overrated in the first place.

Ummm.... okay?

That's why we can set the gain low enough on a 2x150w rms amp to deliver only 2x75w rms if we desire using the following formula, right?

VOLTS = SQRT(WATTS * OHMS)

17.3V = SQRT(75 * 4)

I can adjust the gain knob on the amp until my DMM reports 17.3V from the amp's speaker outs.

If I wanted the full 2x150w rms, then the voltage would be 24.5V, but I had better make damn sure the signal isn't distorted and/or clipped.
