Hey everyone, I'm going to be buying a Polk Audio MM 2124 12" sub (don't try and talk me out of it, i love polks stuff...OK!) anyway, i need an amp that gives about 400 watts, but here is where it gets interesting...

There is also a DVC version of the sub, so it doesn't matter if it is 400 watts @ 2 ohms or 4 ohms. Anyway, I'm looking to spend about 150 dollars (amp alone, no wiring) but the less would be better.

So far, i've found these...what do you think and why (sorry but i have no idea where to start with amps). I don't have a big alternator or super battery so everything would be at stock voltage. If they all **** could you give me some suggestions for a good amp (no cheapy boss crap or anything like that) that is durable and provides clean power?

MA Audio M1889I 400@4ohm 129.99->http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_2680.html

Hifonics TXi 4006 400@4ohm? 130.99 -> http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4206

Kicker kx350.4 (factory renewed) 129.99 http://www.cardomain.com/item/KIC04KX35042

those are some i found, but i'm open to anything thats below 150. I hope by the items i listed you get some idea what i'm looking for. Thanks a bunch.

c'mon nobody else? Some of you have to be experts, i've seen some threads you know.

Is it that tough to at least look at my 3 that i posted and tell me which one would be most durable and give clean power the best?

I believe the Kicker would be the best quality amp you have listed.

witha dual 4 ohm vc you could wire each vc to a channel bridged on that amp and get 175+ to each coil.

Imo the ma audio would be the ebst power to money ratio but quality is not what kicker is.

I would suggest the ma if you went with a single 4 ohm vc as it would deliver the power you need and be fairly easy to wire up.

I cant give any advice on the Hifonics.

craigslist in your area has some decent amps listed:

eclipse da7122

900w rms kenwood 170$ (try to bargain)

jbl gto 301.1 (probably not enough)

i didn't search very far, but you might give it a try. no shipping cost. just make sure you test things before handing over your cash
