Amplifier going into power protection mode

My Kickers be swaggin'
I have a sony xm502z amp. I was bumping today and all last week and my amp suddenly went to power protection mode. It now turns green when I turn my amp on and then turn red after a few moments. I Finally got it to stay on but when played at high volumes it shuts off and goes to power protection mode. Using 8g scorsche wiring. 10 inch kicker comp 4 ohms. Before my amp shuts off my sub produces a constant rumble sound

What would cause this and how do I fix it?

Brand new battery, alternator is fine. Could be a voltage drop but I don't have a dmm to check. I'll post a picture of my ground location sometime today. Yesterday after I posted I was able to get it work for about 10 minutes bumping no problem, then out of no where my headunit shuts off and now it won't turn back on.
