I have a power supply to power my amps. If I run 2 amps on the same power supply, will the amperage on the power supply stay the same? or will it divide by two because im running 2 amps?

My power supply runs 34a @ 12v. so if I divide by 2 then it would equal 17a. so does than mean that each amp will be receiving 17a? Or will each amp get 34a?

Think of it this way...

The power supply will try to supply as much current as the amps (load) are asking for. However, your supply is limited to putting out 34 amps total. You have to make sure the two amps never "ask" for more than 34 amps total combined or you will overload your power supply.

For example:

If one amp is lightly loaded and only pulling 4 amps, then there are 30 amps available to the other amp.

What are the model numbers of the amps and what impedance speakers are you driving? Or what is the total RMS power rating of each amp?

I have a kicker cx300.1 and a kenwood kac-9105d

I hope you don't plan on turning those up very loud. Together they are capable of drawing 130 amps! Your 34amp power supply is going to be way too small to power both those amps to full potential.

EDIT: Miscalculated current. It is 40 amps plus 90 amps = 130 amps total at max RMS output

well good news is that it works with both and nothing failed so far. I played it at a very minimal level so it worked out great. I plan to get another stronger power supply to power the kenwood by itself which powers a DD sub. And you use the power supply i have now to power my kicker amplifier. Ill probably post a video on youtube after I have everything finished.
