Yea I'd do the same prolly won't get much better from a deck unless amped. Especially with stock speakers

Ok. Biggest issues with changing the stock speakers is 1 not sealed properly and 2 higher impedance so they don't get much power which can make them not sound as loud

I'm pretty sure i did i right cause the sound quality is good and it can get loud just not loud enough if i turn my subs up alot

You don't use the RCA cables with a stock head unit. This amplifier has high level inputs that are wired directly to the speaker leads.

There's a selector switch for different voltage levels depending on high level inputs or low level RCA inputs. That's the gain setting.

You can connect both the amplifier input wires and the output wires behind the head unit. It's doing the exact same thing as an LOC, except inside the amp and you don't have to adjust it.
