I have a 2000watt volfenhag hooked up to 3 12" infinitys, ..dont get me wrong, the bass sounds great and its loud as hell, my windshield whipers do a dance, but i cant turn the gain on the amp all the way up because it goes into protect mode....cheap amp cant handle what its got in it, so im lookin for like a 1600watt - 2000watt good amp thats not to expensive, any suggestions???

Define "not too expensive"? I'd say, Orion/Kicker/Audiobahn. Not a big fan of what I've heard of audiobahn, but it is cheap, and I've never tested one myself to know.

Look on ebay and see what you can get from each of those manufactures, its an easy way to compare specs and such.

The gain isn't a volume control. Don't blame the amp for you not knowing about the controls on it. The gain is only there to match the output voltage of the source unit to the required input voltage of the amp. Turn it up past where it needs to be and you can start to damage things. The amp going into protect mode has probably saved you from toasting either it or the subs.

you are lucky you did not frie the amp.if your not happy with the output of the amp then i would suggest upgrading to directed 1100d or something of the sort.dont get the ikesound refurbs though. what is the vc configuration on your subs
