Amp works, but couple of questions

hooked up wires to power, ground, and remote....amp powers on. thats as far as I can get right now. I figured I don't need a full amp kit, just enough wire to run the power and ground, a LOC, an inline fuse, and a subsonic filter.

1>since I have a 300watt amp,but will be upgrading to 425watts later, what guage do I need...I figure 6guage.

2>How much does the wire cost, and should I be able to get it at a local sound shop?

3>The amp uses 2-25 watt fuses, what size inline fuse should I use?

4>LOC(Line output converter)..no question here, I've hooked one of these up before, have to get one at the local sound shop.

5>Subsonic filter>gonna get that from a friend, but wondering...where do I install it...On the + wire between the amp and the subs?

OK, that only answers the first question, 6guage should be fine.

get wire from knukonceptz, cheap and decent stuff

when you buy amp wiring kits from knukonceptz, they take care of the fuses for you. your amplifier manual should give you a reccomended fuse size as well. if not, check online stores under specifications and it should say

already figured most of it out...crutchfield.com says I need 4guage wire if I am going to be putting a 425watt amp on it later, so guess thats what I will go with. Also, at crutchfield. it said to use a fuse equal to the fuses on the amp. so since it has 2 25's guess I will go with a 50.

As for the subsonic filter question, I am using a 2channel amp bridged to power the subs, and it does not have a subsonic filter built in, so I will have to add one. just wondering where it goes.

i think ur mixed up, subsonic filter is on the amp and ur hu u dont buy them. at least im not sure if you can, either u buy one that has it or you dont, or have a hu that does the same thing

My hu is stocik, and doesnt have a subsonic filter, and the amp is a 2channel that i am bridging, it does not have a subsonic filter either...a friend of mine is going to give me something that blocks out the highs, maybe its called something else..

my friend just got back to me, Its not subsonic filters, its a crossover with a freq below 20 hz.....basically a high pass filter set at a low frequency, bass gets through, but the lowest freqencies dont. they plug into the RCA's at the amp.
