Amp wont turn on

so i just bought a kicker zx300 two days ago, to power a 12in sub. i wired it from my car battery with 8 gauge wire. i have it grounded to the frame of my car, i even scraped the paint off where i bolted it down. i tested the power wire and the remote turn on and they both are gettin voltage through em. i tested my fuses and theyre workin too, but the amp still wont turn on, any ideas what to do???????

Do you have a friend with a setup that works? You could connect yours to his wiring to see if it works. Or since you bought it at frys just exchange it.

I didn't read about the remote wire???? a much needed and necessary part of the whole amp turning on process.if this is hooked up then be sure and check the ground again and even try a new gound.......remember to put the inline fuse back in the power line but i'm guessing if you're getting volts thru it then you did.? good luck and if all else fails then swap it out with a friends amp or try his in your ride......if that doesn't work then take that sucka back!!

Hmm. It's pretty hard to tell without having a look. If the amp just won't turn on, though, the problem is usually something simple. All it needs to turn on is a correctly connected power, ground, and remote turn on lead. I would thoroughly go through all the wiring again and make sure you hooked the amplifier up correctly (i.e. didn't accidentally put the power wire in the ground wire's slot)

try to jump the remote from the 12v pos at the amp to the remote turn on input. basically, with the power wire from the batt plugged into the 12v POS, run a peice of speaker wire maybe 1 foot long from the 12v pos over to the remote turn in. make sure the speaker wire is making contact with the power wire. this will jump a 12v signal into your remote turn on lead and should turn on the amp if the amp is properly grounded. if it's not turning on then some may be wrong with the amp, or bad wiring.

if it does turn on, check your remote lead. you may have a pinch in it. or look at the head unit, maybe you have a remote turn off or such wwhich you may have to enable so the head unit sends a 12v signal thru the remote when needed. or something like that.

im convinced that there must be something wrong with the amp then, cuz even the jump didnt work and i tried grounding it in three different places, that things goin back to frys

I know it's a dumb question BUT you do have the radio on when you turn the key on and check the amp......? right? if so then it sounds like you've checked eveything and just got ahold of a lemon. fry's should replace it with no problems though.
