If you place the DMM on the speaker wires as they are going to be connected to the amp, but NOT while they are connected, and you get 2 ohms then your amp will see 2 ohms of resistance. You never try to measure the resistance of a component of a system while it is connected to the system as this will give you the total resistance of everything connected to that system. The .7 ohms your reading is simply the resistance of the amplifiers internal components as they are connected to the terminals and in this case is completely meaningless. Objects have resistance whether they are connected to a power source or not and simply determine how much current will be drawn from the amplifier, which is also the reason an amplifier goes into protection mode (too low of a resistance equals too high a current draw for the components which make up the amplifiers circuit). Do yourself a favor and learn Ohm's Law (V=IR in its simplest form) and do not touch anything to do with electrical until you first understand this most basic of principles.
