i was going down the road to day with my system going, and the amp just shut down, almost like it would do if it overheated, but like anyother time i would turn the radio off and the amp would reset itself...but now the green light is on but no sound is coming out of my subs...do u think i blew my amp?

im runnin a 1250 watt power acoustik 2 channel amp...my subs r 2 12in kicker comp 4ohms...i'm pretty sure i have them bridged down to 2ohms tho...besides i've been listening to my system a lot, for a while and i just now had this happen

this is the first time that i've ever had or heard of a power acoustik messin up, but i'm pretty sure my rca's didnt come off, but when i did pull them out, it pulled the chrome pieces off of the amp so i just pushed them back on, is there another way that i could hook up my rca's to test them out

i really think its the amp, cuz i just looked at the subs and they seemed fine, but whenever i ran one of the speaker wires over the terminals on the amp, the made like a fuzzy sound, but that was it, but i guess it still could be the subs

bye bye signal

bye bye signal
x2. those chrome pieces are the + signal to the rcas.

think of rcas as speaker wire, just carrying a very very low wattage signal. the outside round part is the + and the inside pole is -

when the chrome piece came off the amp, its like a terminal breaking off the sub. no signal gets to the desired point

Ouch...time to open it up and see if you can repair it :-\
