Amp wont power?

i used my multi meter and its only reading 2.7 volts at the amp.does that mean there is a split some where or bad fuse holder i tried two different fuses so its not the fuses i have a good ground what else could it be.aslo if its remo is there a way to hook it to the power wire so it says its on, im just having a bad day with my stuff

what is reading 2.7? your main power wire or remote wire?

Check the power before and after the fuse holder. That happened to me before and had to replace it.

its 12.5 before and after the fuse holder. and at the amp it reads 12.5 but when i put the remote wire in it jumps to 2.5 is that just because the glass fuse is blow but not all the way and wont hold power

all right i got a new fuse and fuse holder its the one that takes U shaped fuses not glass ones. all the wires measure 13.9 going in to the amp be four the amp. but when i turn my amp on with a toggle switch that goes from the power wire to the remote the amp turns off and goes to a 2.5 draw??? what could be doing this it does it with eveyones amps so its not my amp could it be bad ground
