Amp Won't Power On?

I've had this amp for about 4 years now, and this is my first time having any kind of problems. Here's the story.

Driving home from work today, I was listening to my music at a normal level. Everything was fine. I switched to a different song and noticed no bass. So when I got home, I looked and my amp is off. No power light, no protection light. Weird. So, I turn my car off, and back on again and noticed the protection light comes on for like 3 seconds and it fades away. (I always thought they stay on constantly.) Anyway, I checked my ground, my power, everything looks fine. I used a jumper from my 12v on amp to remote and the protection light stays on constantly. I was told it should power on once I do that.

So what other options do I have besides getting my amp looked at in a shop and/or find someone who has a spare amp to test it.

Does it sound like this amp finally died? It's a JBL GTO1201.1

Update. I went and tried the jumper wire again, this time if I leave the wire on, the blue power light comes on, but the protection light also stays on and no sound through the subwoofers. Is this a step in the positive direction or does this not mean anything?

try bench test it out the car, or try it on some1 elses system that works (take out there amp, put yours in, if it works it's your wiring or sumfin todo with your setup, if it dosn't work the amp has died
