Amp tuning

Hey guys, I got a new setup coming in that consists of 2 12" db-500's and a kenwood kac 9102d. On the amp, it has a few settings that I am unfamiliar with. Can anyone explain to me what ISF and PHASE is? the ISF can either be off, -15 Hz, or 25 Hz? The Phase can be 0 or 180. Thanks.

ISF: Infrasonic Filter....also commonly termed a subsonic filter.

This filter functions the in the same manner as any other high-pass filter whereas frequencies below the cutoff are rolled off out of the output. How steeply they roll off will be dependent upon the slope of the crossover. The purpose of that ISF is to prevent overexcursion from sending frequencies that are too far below your enclosure's tuning frequency to the sub(s) you are using.

ISF is the sub sonic filter.

subsonic filter rolls off frequencies below its set point to protect sub-woofers from damage due to ultra-low frequencies pushing the speaker cone beyond its mechanical limits.

Phase switch on the amp is

the phase switch on an electronic crossover usually changes the phase of the output signal by 180 degrees. Depending on the interior dimensions of your vehicle, how the subwoofer is mounted, and where it is mounted, the bass may sound better if the phasing switch is utilized. Sometimes it will sound better if it is not used. The higher the crossover frequency between the subs and the mid-bass, the more noticeable the difference caused by phase switch position
