Amp trouble

I have a Cerwin Vega amp and sub I just pulled out of a friend's car and hooked up to mine. It was working fine in the original car but now I can't even get the amp to power up. The fuse doesn't appear to be blown, the positive power cord is secured tightly to my battery and in the amp, and the area around the ground wire is sanded, clean and secure. I'm baffled. The amp was working perfectly a few minutes ago. Any help is very much appreciated.

hook it back up in the original car to see if it still works or hook it up to a power supply(bench tester)

Ensure the fuse in the power line is secured and not melted or snapped, ground is good, remote wire from head unit is working(can u run other things off of this wire?).

Check and do all of these then let us know what's up.

You can short out a small wire between the power input and remote input to ensure it has power and see if it's the amp. It alleviates wondering if the head unit is giving power or not.
