I'm helping a friend with his SE12 setup. We built a ported box for it and he's running with a directed 750d, which does 400@2 ohms, which is what the sub is.
From the calculations I determined it can output 28V safely (no load) from a 50Hz sine wave at 2 ohms. Gain is around 1/4 for this, source is iPod through Clarion EQ.
The gain is very low, but its clean. When we bump up the gain the SE12 really bumps, but also sounds like it might be clipping a little. (around half gain) I can tell this sub wants a lot more power. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
So what would be a good amp for this driver? This one does 400@2, so my guess is something around 1000@2 would be needed to really show an improvement. 2ohm is all we can do with one SE12.
