Amp strapping

I have my 2 9.1's strapped at 2 ohms right now. So, I'd really like to use 1 amps setting to play another, but I don't like having to actually connect all the wires together for the subs. My amps connect with a phone cord pretty much, that transfers the setting of 1 to the other. My question is, can I wire the subs to each amp independently?

No, master amp is the postive side slave is the negative side

new here and just gettin back into stereo equip blew my kraco tryin to power some big red *** speakers orion hcca 12.2's i knew i should have broken out the ole optimus from radio shack but the kraco sounded best with my 8track... ok just kiddin but i did burn up my collosus so im off lookin for a new amp and have a few questions trying to buy a ddz1 would have by now but that **** paypal waiting period... what exactly is strapping a amp?? and what is the way to wire 2 hcca 12.2's think i went to low of an ohm on the hifonics...wired them positive to positive neg to neg and then wired them to the bridged side of my amp... did i wire it up incorrectly?
